Clean and Clear Dual Action Oil Free Moisturizer Review

I usually use the moisturizer from Simple for my oily skin however they had ran out of it when I went shopping. Instead I bought Clean&Clear Dual Action Moisturizer. Now this isen’t particularly targeted at people with oily skin however it does have an “oil free” sign on the front and is for people with acne prone skin.

So I have used it for a couple of weeks. It doesn’t really feel great on my skin and left it feeling quite dry. Now no new moisturizer was going to feel great on my skin to start with because I need to get used to it first so I gave it a chance and kept using it.

Lets take a look at the ingredients:
Salicylic Acid (0.5%) Inactive: Water, Dicaprylyl Ether, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Neopentyl Glycol Diethylhexanoate, Dimethicone, Dicetyl Phosphate, Ceteth-10 Phosphate, Methyl Gluceth-20, Menthyl Lactate, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Steareth-20, Sodium Hydroxide, Steareth-20, Fragrance, Neopentyl Glycol Diisostearate, Lecithin, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, BHT

Salicylic Acid is always a good ingredient to have. Alcohol on the other hand should be avoided. Some people also believe that Xanthan Gum can aggravate acne. Dimethicone is also a topic that people debate when it comes to acne. Some say it is bad for acne while others say it is non-comedogenic and does not lead to acne. This moisturizer also contains a fragrance.

While this isn’t the worst moisturizer for oily skin, it has too many unnecessary ingredients and caused my skin to feel too dry and I actually noticed my skin worsening as the weeks went by. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try this out, everyone is different. Based on my experience with this moisturizer, I don’t recommend it!
